We check links and holdings information at least twice a year, unless we
know the coverage hasn't changed (certain vendors are fairly static in their
coverage, since they provide everything online). Our PAC has different
fields for full-text and/OR table of contents. Our licensed coverage is
referenced in the text field, along with our print holdings. We also
provide an alpha list of, and links to, our e-journals on our Intranet, with
holdings referenced there.

There are lots of places to update and reference, and it takes a few days
each time we do it, but it is worthwhile when our patrons know immediately
that they should be able to get what they need. This exercise in detailed
holdings is also useful if you link your e-journals to end-user search tools
so that they can search and connect to the full-text seamlessly - the more
complete you are in uploading your e-journal holdings (ISSN plus years
instead of just ISSN), the more precise the results for your patrons.

We do not keep track of holdings information in our ejournal records.
We just put the URL in the 856 field.
