Web Services Librarian Electronic Resources Librarian Ithaca College invites applications for two positions, Web Services Librarian and Electronic Resources Librarian. The result of a library reorganization, these positions have been created in recognition of the role of technologies in the librarys commitment to user-centered service development. Ithaca College is a selective medium-sized comprehensive college in the beautiful Fingerlakes Region of Central New York. The Web Services Librarian will serve as Team Leader of the librarys Web Group, which is charged with the ongoing design, development, and evaluation of the librarys web presence. The team leader will also provide training and technical support for library initiatives in the development of web-based tools and resources. As a member of the librarys Information Services Team, the incumbent will participate in faculty outreach and collection development activities. Required qualifications: MLS or MIS from an ALA-accredited school and demonstrated knowledge of the integration of new technologies into the delivery of user-centered information services; two or more years of relevant professional experience; experience in design, development, and management of web sites; demonstrated proficiency with HTML and web authoring tools; strong public service orientation and experience with academic library public services; ability to work independently within a team environment and a changing library and college environment; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Electronic Resources Librarian will coordinate and support the acquisition, processing, and maintenance of electronic resources for the library. The incumbent will serve as a link between technical and public service units in the library, participating in collection development and cataloging activities for electronic databases and ejournals, including public domain electronic resources and collections. Required qualifications: MLS or MIS from an ALA-accredited school; two or more years of relevant professional experience; knowledge of OCLC, AACR2, MARC formats, LCSH and current cataloging standards; familiarity with standards for access to electronic resources, non-MARC metadata schemes and related and emerging technologies; successful experience with AACR2/metadata schemes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability and willingness to work independently within a team environment and a changing library and college environment.
