I wish to thank Kendall Vance for a very lucid explanation of the murky
ethical issues involved in the employment interview saga in which the
interviewer contacted the applicant's former boss against the latter's
wishes and received unfavorable information.  The job applicant was indeed
fortunate to escape employment with an administration prone to
questionable behavior.  It helps to remember that what goes around, comes
around.  I would imagine that the interviewer had problems with staff
loyalty....
