Back when I was a paraprofessional at a smaller institution, there was
still a card catalog in Tech.Serv.  I typed which bound volumes we received
on the back of the master card.  That was our 'record' of periodical
holdings.

Back when libraries still had card catalogs, and even before word
processing, how were periodicals holdings lists kept? Were there
annotations on the cards in the catalog? Was the Kardex kept near
reference? Some other method?
