Re: ez proxy users Pennington, Buddy D. 30 Jun 2004 19:30 UTC

We use Serials Solutions and EZ Proxy here at UMKC. In the Serials
Solutions Client Center we can enter the proxy URL and Serials Solutions
automatically appends that to the journal title links. Unfortunately,
you still have to locally register those servers in EZ Proxy.

We do not use Millennium but we have discovered that the 'proxied' links
do not work that well in our Innovative catalog. They come up as broken
links in our link reports. Because of that, our catalogers decided not
to proxy those links. Because this creates a inconsistent access levels
(remote users can access titles in Serials Solutions but they cannot
access the same titles in our catalog) we are looking at this issue in
hopes that we can remedy it.

If anyone out there has successfully proxied links in III (text or
Millennium) I would be very interested in hearing about it.
