numbering question for Revue internationale de philosophie Shana McDanold 23 Aug 2004 15:54 UTC

Good morning!

I need some help figuring out what's going on with the numbering for the
Revue internationale de philosophie (ISSN 0048-8143; OCLC#1462200;
LCCN#50-11666). It's an authenticated record so I can't update it.

First, this serial appears to have parallel numbering. It began with
Année 1, 1/1938 = no.1 (1938).  It switched from Année to volume in 1988
with 42 (Année 41 but volume 42). The numbring continued, so that v.50,
1/1996 = no.195.  Both numberings continue consistently until 2004.

1/2004 (jan. 2004) has the right no. (no.227) but the volume numbering
takes a big jump. 2003 was v.57. Printed on 1/2004 is volume 63.
 Then, with 2/2004, the no. is correct again (no.228) but it's called
volume 59! What happened to volume 58? Is this a misprint or did they
skip?

Any help with the numbering confusion would be appreciated. Does anyone
have any information from the publisher?

Thanks in advance,
Shana
