Scientific journals can be notoriously difficult to track title history due to splits and mergers.  I recall that the Russian chem journal Doklady... and the Japanese journal of applied physics causing me many headaches back in the day when I used to be a science librarian.

A good example of this in English is the journal title, Acta Metallurgica.  It changed names to Acta Metallurgica et Materialia, then it changed again to Acta Materialia when it partially incorporated another title – Nanostructured Materials.

Makes for good fun with the 78x and 580 fields
