The Congressional Research Service (CRS) is recruiting for 2 Library &
Information Science Professionals to serve in the CRS Knowledge Services
Group (KSG). The KSG provides authoritative information research and
comprehensive knowledge management practices to the CRS research
community and Congress. Details on the positions follow.

1) LIBRARIAN (RESEARCH SPECIALIST): The incumbent will provide
reference and research services to CRS analysts and congressional
clients. Duties include examining publications, electronic resources,
and trends in a variety of areas; developing knowledge of collections
for use in performing research tasks; and assisting in the creation and
maintenance of databases, web pages, shared folders and other
information systems to meet the demands for reference and information
research support. The incumbent will work a part time schedule. This
position is being offered at the GS-9 level ($43,365 - $56,371);
promotion potential is to the GS-13 level ($74,782 - $97,213).

2) INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST: The incumbent will serve as a
technical expert and will lead working groups and task forces in the
development, management and operation of multiple agency-wide
information systems. Duties include developing and implementing policies
and practices related to information systems; researching, evaluating
and recommending options with regard to emerging developments in
integrated library and other system technologies; and designing and
providing applications for the use of digital information resources. The
incumbent will also keep CRS staff informed of developments in automated
information resources as well as provide training and administrative
support to CRS staff. This position is being offered at the GS-14 level
