subdivision --Dictionaries Linda Dausch 11 Jul 2005 14:37 UTC

I have not been able to get a satisfactory answer as to why titles like
Halliwell's film, video & DVD guide get assigned the subject subdivision
--Dictionaries. Surely, this is not a dictionary. I like --Catalogs as a
subdivision but I suppose that implies that these are dvds for sale.
Closer to the mark seems to be --Reviews or even --Bibliographies. I
just don't think patrons would search for this title using the word
"dictionary." What do others think? I hardly ever see use of the
subdivision --Reviews but it seems to me that that term is in wide use
among the public.
