Kathy,
I don't know what system you have, but if you are using MARC fields
853-863, you would simply add a lower level of part to the previous
853.  It is always possible to add lower levels if they are divisions of
what you already have in your hierarchy.
You go back to the previous 853 to do that.  Supposing....

       V. 100 NO. 1 JAN 2005
       V .  100 NO. 2 APR 2005
        V. 100 NO. 3 PT. 1    JUN 2005
        V. 100 NO. 3 PT. 2    JUN 2005

853      |81  |a v. |b no. |c pt. |i (year) |j (month)    <add |c when
you get first "part">
863      |81.1 |a 100 |b 1 |i 2005 |j 01
863      |81.2 |a 100 |b 2 |i 2005 |j 04

Can anyone walk me through on how to add parts to Marc Holdings and/or how
to change the pattern to include parts? However, in the case below, not
every issue comes with parts.
