DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES

The University of North Florida Library in Jacksonville invites
applications for a Director of Technical Services to provide leadership
and oversight for Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Serials/Preservation. As
a member of the senior management team, this position develops
standards, policies, procedures, and priorities for 6 librarians and 9
support staff in the unit. The successful candidate must possess
excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to work in a
strong participative management environment. Required qualifications:
MLS from ALA accredited program, minimum 10 years experience in
progressively responsible supervisory technical services positions in an
OCLC academic library, demonstrated experience in a technical services
area, and knowledge of emerging technology and standards in technical
services. Desirable qualifications: experience with ExLibris Aleph
integrated library system and OCLC Connexion, functional familiarity
with the software and data formats commonly in use in Technical
Services, including knowledge of macros (particularly MacroExpress),
SQL-compatible database applications, markup languages, spreadsheets,
MARC, emerging metadata schema, 3d party/vendor supplied processes,
academic enterprise systems (preferably SCT Banner), EDI, and
metasearching. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience,
