Our university's centennial is 2013 and I thought that it might be well
to digitize our newspaper and have it done by then.  Anyone worked on a
similar project?

We have bound copies available, some of the earlier volumes are news
size, some are closer to tabloid size.

I'm particularly interested in the technical aspects of the process.
