Hi Sara,

I don't have that journal, so I cannot look at it, but here are the guidelines we use for cover dates:-- Only use what is actually on the piece, so if there are really no dates at all, leave the cover dates blank (our system shows what date we checked it in, so it does not help to repeat the "arrived" date.) That way if it is cited differently, the patron may have more detail than we do, but she will not be put off by some detail of ours that contradicts the citation she has. Most of the time, there is at least a year on every issue. In that case all 16 issues have the same cover date, e.g., "2006"

Good luck,

Subject: [SERIALST] Help with check -in info

Hi,

I receive Journal of Biomechanics and the serial has 16 issues in the year
with no indication of what number is for what month. I was wondering what
would be the right way to input the info into our workflows system. Right
now, I put mon/yr, with the month being the month the issue arrives. But I
am not sure if this is the right way to do this. Any help would be really
appreciated, Thank you~
