Re: DIRECT LINK FROM SERIALS SOLUTIONS TO OPAC TITLE RECORD Adelaide Fletcher 16 Feb 2007 16:19 UTC
We have III through a consortium and I was lucky enough to be able to set up our links to print records without having to include the URLs for each title (just a spreadsheet of titles, dates and some ISSNs). I don't know if this is because SerSol works with III really well or if other libraries in our consortium paved the way. ********************* Adelaide Fletcher Electronic Resources Librarian Denver Medical Library Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center 1719 E. 19th Ave. Denver, CO 80218 303.839.6670 -----Original Message----- From: SERIALST: Serials in Libraries Discussion Forum [mailto:SERIALST@LIST.UVM.EDU] On Behalf Of Martha Coleman Sent: Friday, February 16, 2007 7:25 AM To: SERIALST@LIST.UVM.EDU Subject: Re: [SERIALST] DIRECT LINK FROM SERIALS SOLUTIONS TO OPAC TITLE RECORD Hi Caitlin, There are 2 documents in the Serials Solutions Client Center that may be of help. After you login to the Client Center, click on AMS to locate "Include Print and/or Individual e-Journal Holdings" and also "Export from OPAC" - there are specific instructions for Endeavor and III. Here is a link to the Client Center. Then click on the "Support Center" link in the upper right hand corner of the screen...same line with logout. http://www.serialssolutions.com/CC/login.asp Just a note...I originally sent my local holdings and used the following phrase: UA Fort Smith Holdings in Paper, Micro, or Online. Users would immediately assume we had online. Last time I updated our local holdings file, I created separate files for each format so students would know they were looking for film or paper or online. Here is a link to the entry for Western journal of nursing research: http://pn6wb6zf8u.search.serialssolutions.com/?V=1.0&N=100&L=PN6WB6ZF8U& S=AC_T_B&C=western+journal+of+nursing+research Anne Lenzini in Tech Support was very helpful in explaining the best way to do this. She asked me to send her a spreadsheet with a "sheet" (bottom of excel file) for each database in the following format: ISSN | Journal Title | Date Start | Date End | Holding URL The Holding URL is where you enter your local library name with format. I can send a copy of our spreadsheet if you're interested. Hope this helps.
