Purchasing MARC records for serials Mitch Turitz 16 Feb 2007 22:15 UTC

I apologize in advance for duplicates of this message, as I am
sending this out to several discussion groups (lists).

San Francisco State University subscribes to over 20,000 electronic
serials. We are considering purchasing MARC records for these
serials. Our OPAC is Innovative Interfaces, Inc.

   I am asking:

1.) Who has used a vendor with good quality MARC records/good prices.
We estimate we will need approximately 22,000 serial bib records.

2.) How useful were those records?

3.) How much additional work (including cleanup) was needed to be done?

4.) Any other comments.

Please send your replies directly to me:

Thanks in advance,

Mitch
