Topic: The Courage to Change MARC

While the process of changing MARC encoding is not simple, it is possible. We will discuss two examples: the inclusion of geographic coordinates in MARC authority records; and the proposed modifications of MARC as they relate to changes in practice in serials and series cataloging.

After the presentations, we will have a brief business meeting, to select an incoming chair and vice chair for the IG, effective after the conclusion of the Annual Meeting.
