Instruction Librarian Florida Institute of Technology's Evans Library (www.lib.fit.edu <http://www.lib.fit.edu/> ) invites applications for the position of Instruction Librarian. Energetic, knowledgeable, and forward-thinking professionals are encouraged to apply for this full-time faculty position that reports to the Library's Director of Instruction. Position Responsibilities: Investigates and implements Web 2.0 technologies for the purpose of: * building a collection of select information literacy learning objects * offering library users new methods of communication * increasing capabilities for interactivity on the Web * providing more opportunities for innovative collaboration with the Library and campus faculty, students, and staff * adding accessibility to digital content Develops, designs, and delivers a variety of instructional sessions and tools, for the teaching of a one-credit course, for support of Florida Tech course requirements, and for around-the-world and around-the-clock access Contributes to the design, promotion, coordination, delivery, and assessment of the Library's instructional programs Provides research and reference assistance to on-site and distant graduate and undergraduate students, teaching and research faculty, and members of the community. Some evenings and weekends are required. Serves as liaison to one or more academic units Requirements: Minimum Education and Experience: Master's degree in Library Science, from an ALA-accredited university Practical knowledge of emerging technologies, such as IM, wikis, mediacasting, RSS, blogs, and course management software Preferred Experience: Two years of professional library experience in an academic library Located in Melbourne (http://www.melbourneflorida.org/ <http://www.melbourneflorida.org/> ), Florida Institute of Technology (www.fit.edu <http://www.fit.edu/> ) is the southeast's only private technological university and offers over 100 bachelor, master, and doctoral programs on-site and online.
