I would suggest using your regular "bound with" procedures, but you
might make an added title on each record for the collective title. Maybe
something like:

246 1_  $i Title on microfilm container: $a Sun papers

That way anyone who happened to be familiar with the microform title
would be sure to find it, too.

We recently received microfilm that contains three separate community
newspaper titles bound together. The title on the microfilm container is
"Sun Papers" referencing the publisher, but making no mention of the
three individual titles therein. Our normal procedure for titles bound
together is to attach holdings to microfilm records for each individual
title and add a public "bound with" note. With sets like Early American
Newspapers the individual titles are listed on the container. Does the
fact that the set we received only references "Sun Papers" preclude that
we make a new record for this title, or should we proceed to catalog
these by individual title, "bound with" notes etc. I am new at this so
please be gentle. Thanks for your time and consideration.
