Re: Setting Up Pay-Per-View T Thompson 31 Oct 2008 21:36 UTC

Irena,

We have a few database that use the pay-per-view model simple because we
cannot afford a subscription. To keep the cost down, we were not including
them in our A-Z list. The only access was to be on the platform already and
choose to change databases. We did add them to the A-Z list this year, and
we have seen a dramatic increase in usage. We may have to remove them.

Subject: [SERIALST] Setting Up Pay-Per-View

Are there any libraries willing to share "lessons learned" from setting up
a pay-per-view service for their users? We are concerned about providing
easy access while also maintaining some degree of control over the costs.

We are a special library, looking primarily into ScienceDirect as a start.

Thanks for any suggestions.
