Subject: [SERIALST] Excel function

Colleagues,

A few years ago I ran across a procedure whery by one could compare
lists in Excel. A formula containing the word "Trim" would help in
identifying duplicates.

I sometimes compare lists using different colored cells, but it requires
reading through the list and the "Trim" procedure generates a note in a
separate column.

This was outlined in appendix C of a book on electronic resources (I
think) and I cannot remember the title.

If someone has that procedure handy or could point me to the book, I
would be most grateful.

Thanks,

Mary
