RSC Publishing would like to announce that our free Highlights
supplements are moving. These include:

 From January 2011, all online news articles will be published on the
Chemistry World news page

They will still be free for everyone to access. Plus, a selection of the
content will be published in print as part of the Research section of
Chemistry World. The original RSC Publishing research, on which the
articles are based, will be free for a limited time.

Issue 12, 2010, will be the final issue of each of the three supplements.
All published issues will be freely accessible from the RSC website.

Originally launched back in 2004 to provide a news service drawing
together coverage from all RSC publications, the supplements have
provided a vehicle for wider promotion of the most cutting-edge science
published in RSC journals. By moving to Chemistry World, articles will
have the opportunity to reach even wider audiences.

E-Books, Journal Archives and More at MUSE's ALA Midwinter User Group

Get a sneak preview of MUSE's plans for e-book collections, learn more
about our ongoing expansion of journal archives, and enjoy a light
breakfast with fellow subscribers at the Project MUSE User Group breakfast
on Saturday, January 8, at the American Library Association’s Midwinter
Meeting in San Diego, CA.

We will also have details on the 37 new journals joining MUSE for 2011,
enhancements to our platform, and ample opportunity for questions and

the number of representatives you expect to have attending from your
institution.

Project MUSE will also have an exhibit booth at ALA Midwinter, #1112.

Subject: JSTOR Platform Update Scheduled for December 18th

Dear Colleagues -

We are pleased to announce that on December 18, 2010, JSTOR will perform
a platform update in support of the Current Scholarship Program (CSP).

Highlights of this platform update include:

• A wider range of content formats, including full-text HTML for some
journals and downloadable PDFs for all current journal issues
• Multimedia files for some journals
• New personalization features, including the ability to register for
Table of Contents (TOC) emails and alerts when new content matches saved
search terms
• New informational pages for the titles participating in the Current
Scholarship Program

Changes to existing functionality and forthcoming features:

• Article citation information will reside within the “View Citation”
overlay
• The “Collections at your institution” page will list licensed Archive
Collections and licensed CSP titles. Please note that the export of an
institution-specific holdings file will no longer be accessible from
this page, but may be requested by contacting support@jstor.org
• Please note that Current Issues Linking will be removed for titles in
the Current Scholarship Program. This change will take effect on 12/18.
While current issues will not be accessible until 1/1, link resolvers
will continue to point at the appropriate targets.
• All CSP content will be preserved in Portico, and manifest pages will
be made available for CSP publishers who participate in LOCKSS. Data
sharing with Portico and LOCKSS will be available in mid-2011.

During this platform update, you may not be able to use MyJSTOR (for
example, to save citations, or to make changes to your account,) however
everything else should function as normal.

Release of Current Issues on JSTOR

Please note that from December 18 – 31, 2010, JSTOR will be loading the
first set of CSP journals. This will include all 2010 content for CSP
journals, and recent back issues for most titles. It will also include
archival content to volume 1, issues 1 for most titles. Please be aware
that during this brief period, users may locate this content if they
choose to browse or search all content. They will not have access to
this content, however, until 2011 subscription access begins on JSTOR
the first of the year.

Throughout January, we’ll be hosting webinars that will review the
platform update in detail. For times and to register, visit
