Hello SERIALIST,
Cross-posted—Sorry.

SS offers two different delivery options for MARC records: ‘Updates’ and ‘All New’.
Currently, we receive records from Serials Solutions (SS) based on the 'updates’ method (monthly receipt of new, changed, and delete files for both e-journals and e-books). We are reconsidering our profile selections--ie, change to ‘all new’ delivery method, which entails: monthly purge of existing SS bib records and ERM holdings, followed by monthly load of new SS bib files and new ERM coverage load.

We will appreciate any input from Innovative/SS libraries or libraries w/different ILS plus Serials Solutions.
If you have the time, responses to the following specific questions will also be very helpful.
Our current SS data summary: Total Holdings = 37053

Re use of SS ‘all new’ option--
Is the ‘system burden’ manageable?
Have you encountered any unforeseen problems?
Is any regular pre-load maintenance performed on .csv file prior to coverage load? If yes, please describe.
What benefits are associated with ‘all new’ option?
Other remarks?

Re: use of SS ‘updates’ option--
How much monthly maintenance (re holdings) is needed? Has maintenance become problematic?
Why did you choose ‘updates’ option as opposed to ‘all new’ delivery method?
Is any regular pre-load maintenance performed on .csv file prior to coverage load? If yes, please describe.
What benefits are associated with ‘updates’ option?
Other remarks?

Thanks in advance for help!
Sincerely,
Laurel
