Reminder--Call for Proposals: NC Serials Conference 2013 Carr, Patrick 07 Dec 2012 13:45 UTC

The 22nd Annual North Carolina Serials Conference will be held on March 15, 2013 at The William and Ida Friday Center in Chapel Hill. This message is a reminder that the Conference Planning Committee is currently accepting proposals for presentations that reflect the conference theme of "Collaboration, Community, and Connection." Proposals may address any aspect of the serials industry or serials management and may be submitted by any member of the serials profession including publishers, vendors, librarians, staff, and students. Examples of topics that might be addressed in proposals include:

--Current and emerging business models for e-resource acquisitions

--Professional development for library staff members

--Current trends in scholarly communications

--Serials cataloging and the impact of RDA

--Issues and trends in e-resource access and discovery

Proposals should be submitted by email in a document attachment to Patrick Carr at carrp@ecu.edu<mailto:carrp@ecu.edu>. The deadline for submissions is December 14, 2012.

When submitting a proposal, please include the following information:

1. Contact details (including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address)

2. A short (50 words or less) biographical description for each speaker

3. Presentation title

4. 100-300 word abstract

5. Estimate of time required to present topic

Please note: Presenters must pay all travel and registration expenses.

The Planning Committee will review all proposals for their content, timeliness, relevance, and fit with the overall Conference content. The Committee reserves the right to refocus or combine proposals as needed (with notice) to reach a diverse audience and to maximize use of program time slots.
