Re: latest/earliest/successive entry JUDITH HOPKINS AT SUNY BUFFALO 08 Nov 1990 22:43 UTC

One of the subscribers to this list (who didn't sign his/her name at the
end of the message!) asked about articles on EARLIEST ENTRY. I have two
articles on that topic along with some that refer to that approach along
with the other two approaches: latest and successive entry.

"Earliest online..." by Marjorie Flaspeter and Linda Lomker. (2 articles)
  SERIALS REVIEW, V.11, no.2 (Summer 1985), pp.63-70.

"The first shall be last: earliest entry cataloging" by Jim E. Cole.
 SERIALS LIBRARIAN, v.11, no.1 (Sept. 1986), pp. 83-92.

Some other interesting articles are:

"Successive entry: another look" by Beth Reuland. SERIALS REVIEW, v.9, no.3
  (Fall 1983), pp. 92-93.
"Successive entry serials cataloging: a reevaluation" by Sue C. Lim.
  TECHNICALITIES, v.6, no. 9 (Sept. 1986), p. 14-15.
"Successive entry serials cataloging: an evaluation" by Sue C. Lim.
  SERIALS LIBRARIAN, v.14, nos.1/2 (1988), pp. 59-69.
"Title changes in an automated environment: the last shall be first" by
Jackie Zajanc. SERIALS LIBRARIAN, v.11, no.1 (Sept. 1986), pp. 93-99.

The articles emanating from Northwestern University have already been cited
by another respondent.
