My experience with GPO standing orders and subscriptions
was in a relatively small medical library so our list of
titles was not long.  Nonetheless, I had a horrible time
getting them.  I tried ordering from GPO and also tried
direct orders and begging for gratis copies from the agencies.
I finally handed them over to Faxon and to Bernan.  The
service immediately improved although GPO continued to give
the vendors the same headache they had given me.  I did not
pay extra for the service of the GPO titles.  At least I was
not spending hours of my time tracking them down and claiming
them!!
