In reply to Kate McCain's reply to the serials definition question and her
additional comments: I provided a non-cataloging, working definition of a
serial, but I sent it directly to the original requestor rather than to the
discussion list.  Perhaps there were other such definitions offered directly
and thus did not appear on the list...
