Cost of mapping serials bibliographic data LIBEM004@SIVM.BITNET 10 Mar 1992 02:23 UTC

We plan to map serials bibliographic data from our OPAC into our serials
control module. Next, we plan to key in holdings data from manual serials
records. The Smithsonian libraries are trying to estimate the cost in dollars
and/or personnel for the mapping of serials bibliographic data and the key-
ing of serials holdings data. If you have done or are presently involved in
a serials automation project using these mapping and keying methods could you
share estimates on how many titles per hour per person can be processed?
Thank you in advance for any information on cost estimates you can provide.
Please reply directly to either of us. Our fax number is (202) 786-2443.
