Linking entries are not indexed at the University of Kentucky.
Though I remain an advocate of latest-entry records, if serials are to
be described using successive records, they must be retrieved successively.
That a patron can retrieve a record describing a cited title--that title only
and no other linked title--is a popular argument for making separate,
successive records. It is much too confusing when a title search matches
two or three or more records, with only one of them actually describing the
cited title. Brad Carrington, Principal Cataloguer

I would not recommend the use of linking fields as access points in an
OPAC. Patrons may assume that you own a linked publication, and be upset if
you don't. If you do own a linked publication, you would probably catalog it
separately; thus access from linking fields would be redundant and confusing.
