Naturally, I agree with Marilyn that libraries should only archive
e-journals that are appropriate for their missions and that they have
options about how to accomplish that archival function.

I think that libraries have another role as well.  In this very early
stage of e-journal development, libraries can help legitimize e-journals
by adding them to their collections.  I view this as a useful side effect
of libraries taking action for other reasons that are more central to
their missions.
