The National Institute of Standards and Technology has a federal
career position for a librarian in the Office of Information
Services, Research Information Center, Research Resources
Development, Gaithersburg, MD.

DUTIES:  The incumbent is responsible for serials management:
selection, acquisitions, processing, cataloging, binding;
responsible for management of electronic journals; maintains
accuracy of machine readable serials database; is in charge of the
Serials Exchange Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:  The announcement lists the complete selective and
qualifying factors required for this position.  Requirements
include:  full professional knowledge of the theories, objectives,
principles, and techniques of librarianship, with emphasis on
skills and experience in cataloging, serials management, integrated
library systems, microcomputer use in library applications,
collection development, and other technical services activities.

POSITION and SALARY:  Librarian ZA-1410-II/III ($22,717-$52,385);
promotion potential to the III level if hired at a lower pay level.
