COORDINATOR (Managing Librarian I) - Seattle Public Library
Magazines, Newspapers and Government Publications
Full time (evenings and weekends will be required)
$3,776 to $4,585 per month, plus benefits
Opens November 1, 1993. Closes December 15, 1993.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, the candidate MUST have the
following MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) An MLS from an ALA accredited school of library service, or Wash.
State Certification as a librarian. (2) Three years of progressively
responsible experience which demonstrates knowledge of managing
library services. (3) Work experience must demonstrate the ability
to identify sources of information relating to government plans, policies
and processes which affect the community. (4) Work experience must
demonstrate the ability to provide the highest standards of library
services to diverse public library users.

In addition, the Library seeks candidates with knowledge, training
and experience which include:

Knowledge of community needs for information about government.
Superior communication skills.
Staff supervision skills.
Knowledge of informational resources.

Candidates must have a sense of humor, and the ability to instill a
positive and enthusiastic approach to public service.
