Many thanks to those kind people who put me on right track regarding
the SISAC symbol the Z39.56-1991 standard for barcodes to identify
serial issues. Today I discovered an article by Malawski ... [et al.]
on the SICI barcode in 'The Serials Librarian' vol. 24 nos. 3/4 (1994)
p. 209-214.

I think it is worth mentioning that Haworth Press do not print a SICI
barcode on their journal 'The Serials Librarian'.
