Binding of theses Frances Fisher 07 Oct 1994 22:15 UTC

At North Dakota State University we have for a number of years processed
the binding of all theses: personal copies, departmental copies as well
as library copies. This entails the Graduate School carrying unbound
theses to the library, library staff processing those theses and sending
them to the bindery, library staff revising the theses when they are
returned by the bindery, and library staff billing the Graduate School.

I would think it would be much more efficient for the Graduate School to
prepare the theses for the bindery, send the theses to the bindery, and
when all bound volumes are received at the Graduate School, the Library
would be sent two copies.

I would appreciate hearing how other institutions handle the binding of
theses. Please reply directly to me. I will summarize responses for the
list.

Thanks in advance.
