The University of Iowa Libraries uses regular NOTIS. Each year we
create a new Order/Pay/Receipt record for the issues. We label it
"Receipts for 1995," or as is suitable. We follow the chart in the
front of the journal issues which explains how many issues will be
published, the subtitles, volume #s, etc. We create an N Statement
for each issue expected and also N Statements in the proper sequence
and explain on the N Statements the sub-title, volume #s expected,
and number of issues per volume. When an issue is received, the
receiver looks for the proper subtitle in the OPR and checks in the
issue, changing the R Statement to an N Statement.

As you can tell, we record all of the issues under the title,
"Biochimica et biophysica acta." Because the OPAC can display
only 15 current issues from an OPR, library users cannot gain
all of the current issue information they might want, but the
staff has access to full receipt information.

This is just one way of doing it.
