ASSISTANT UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN FOR INFORMATION RESOURCES AND
SYSTEMS: Provides creative leadership for a division con-
sisting of the departments of Bibliographic Services and
Systems which are currently in the process of reorganization.
Plans, develops, and administers resources and systems for
acquisitions, serials, cataloging and systems functions to
support research and instructional programs.  Responsi-
ble for the management of library collections and systems
including the management of an III integrated library system
and the personnel management of 4 librarians, 17 support staff
and a systems librarian.  Responsible for the development of
internal and external electronic information resources and
capabilities using a cross-functional team approach.

QUALIFICATIONS: A.L.A.-accredited MLS. Minimum of 5 years
progressively responsible managerial experience on the
department head level or higher, preferably in a university
with research orientation.  Record of exploration and
application of emerging information technologies; significant
technical knowledge of information systems.  Broad functional
experience, including experience in an automated technical
services environment.  Evidence of success as a manager,
leader and innovator; planning and program development
skills; ability to work effectively in team environment;
effective communication skills.  Demonstrated strong service
orientation.  Evidence of serious commitment to librarianship
through personal record of educational, scholarly, and
professional achievement.

COMPENSATION: $50,000 minimum plus fringe benefits, including
group health insurance and choice of retirement programs.  12
month appointment; 24 days annual leave per year.
