Subject: Position vacancy - Librarian

                      TECHNICAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN

GMI Engineering & Management Institute (Flint, Michigan) is seeking a
qualified applicant to provide direction to the Technical Services area
of the Library.

Primary responsibilities of position include: oversee operation of
Technical Services and cataloging library collections; providing
training to support staff; developing technical services procedures;
generating & maintaining statistical reports; managing & processing
invoices, orders & credits; assisting with reference services; and
participating in collection development.

The position requires: a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA
accredited program and a minimum of one year experience in each of the
following: acquisition & cataloging of print, non-print & serials; MARC,
LC classification & subject assignment, as well as OCLC (or other)
bibliographic utilities; automated systems; standard accounting
procedures; electronic reference resources and Internet resources.
Applicants must also demonstrate: a record of progressive supervisory or
management experience, the ability to function in a changing electronic
environment, effective organizational and verbal/written communication
skills, the ability to work with attention to detail, familiarity with
engineering & management disciplines, and the ability to work
effectively with staff, students, faculty, and diverse publics.
