Montclair State University (Upper Montclair, NJ) invites
         applications and nominations for the position of:

                       DIRECTOR OF THE LIBRARY

         The Director, reporting to the Provost, leads a staff of 45
         in maintaining a completely on-line collection of over
         400,000 volumes, 2,600 current serials, 21,500 government
         publications and extensive non-print media.

         Qualifications include and ALA-accredited MLS; an additional
         subject matter master's degree or doctorate in library
         science; at least five years of succesful library leadership
         and 10 years of prior professional academic library
         experience.
