Jane--We mend all of our microfilm with scotch tape and have never had
a problem.

What you want is called splicing tape. It comes on rolls, but it's actually
pre-cut pieces of tape with paper backing. Just position over broken ends,
peel off paper, and voila! It's not expensive and probably can be found in
most library supply catalogs; I think the brand we have is 3M, but I'm sure
others make it.

Jane

I always thought scotch tape was a no-no.

I ordered some quik splice - film splicing tapes - from UMI. Works
great, film is like new.
