                             LAW LIBRARIAN
                                VACANCY

The Law Library is a branch of the University Library, and is located
within the Central Library. It has a collection of some 40,000 volumes,
subscribes to about 570 serials titles, and provides electronic access to a
wide range of material. It has a staff of seven.

The role of the Law Librarian is to manage the Law Library, its collections
and services, in order to provide quality service to staff, students, and
other clients of the Law Library, and to contribute to the overall
management of the University Library. You will assist in the planning and
implementation of services, including electronic information services,
assist in the selection of stock, participate in the teaching programmes of
the School of Law, and work closely with the Dean and other staff of the
School.

You will have a university degree and formal qualifications in
librarianship. A law degree would be an advantage. Experience of library
reference and information work, and the implementation and use of
technology to provide information and library services, are required, as is
managerial and staff supervisory experience. Previous experience in a law
library is highly desirable. You will need the ability to provide team
leadership, to organise and plan, and to exercise judgement and initiative.
You will have a high level of self-motivation, and a commitment to
excellent client service.

The salary will be within the range for Associate Librarians, $40,341 -
$51,680.
