At Nassau Community College, we had no automated serials system, and we had
our periodicals in closed stacks. When I came here two years ago, I set up
a database in Q & A so I could print a holdings list. We also started keeping
circulation statistics in the database, as well as microfilm, binding, and
other information, which I can readily access to print various reports,
according to my needs. The circulation statistics are quite helpful in
making decisions regarding retention, drops, etc. Now that I have the
MultiLis serials module, I have no intention of discontinuing my Q & A
holdings database! I'd be glad to share further details.
