Pat Thompson asked what libraries with classified periodical collections
do to inform patrons what the call number is.

At the State University of New York at Buffalo the General Libraries
switched to a classified arrangement for bound  periodicals several years ago.
However the current issues are arranged in alphabetical order by title.

On the shelf label for each of the titles in the current issues collection
we give the call number so that someone browsing the new issues can go
directly from the unbound unclassified current issue to the bound classified
issue in the stacks.
