In house binding machines Nancy Taub 21 Jan 1997 14:40 UTC

At Colgate University Library, I have been using an in-house binding
system for newsletters, reports, etc - using the Brodart 810 Binding
System - which has been in our library for about 15 years. It has worked
very well - using heavy pressboards for covers. But, the machine is
constantly breaking lately and I would like to replace it, as it is
expensive to fix. This machine costs approx $3200. Does any other
library have any suggestions to another in-house binding system, less
expensive and easier to use (the Brodart uses plastic tacks and a heat
machine to melt them). Thanks very much for any suggestions. You can
e-mail me directly.
