Subject: Small business controller/Corporate controller

I have a question I think someone might be able to help me with.

We have a subscription for Small business controller (OCLC
#22637079), a Warren, Gorham & Lamont periodical.  According to OCLC,
it ceased and became Corporate controller.  This tallies with what we
have--we got an issue of Corporate controller, apparently on the same
old subscription--except for some weird discrepancies.

The OCLC record for the new title (#36109388) shows the first issue
as v. 1, no. 1 (winter 1997).  The first issue I actually have of the title is
called v. 10, no. 2 (Jan./Feb. 1997).

Now, maybe there was an issue mistakenly called v. 1, no. 1 before
they realized they needed to carry on the numbering from the old
title, and I have only the second issue of the new title, where they
got the numbering back on track.  But you can see that the
chronological designations are out of whack too.  Both the OCLC
record and the issue I have say that the title is bimonthly, so the
"winter 1997" designation seems odd, and it seems even odder when the
supposed next issue is Jan/Feb 1997.  (The last issue of the old
title that we have, by the way--and an OCLC record confirms this is
the last issue there was--is v. 9, no. 4 (fall 1996).)

What complicates this even more, for me, is that there is a DIFFERENT
periodical called Corporate controller (OCLC #17972367), published by
Faulkner & Gray, which (judging from the 362 in the record) should
have put out v. 10, no. 1 for Jan./Feb. 1997.  Very strange
coincidence!  I can't help wondering if maybe WGL took over this
publication?
