I'm surprised that there hasn't been a deluge of replies to Tom White
concerning how folk at the University of California Press should notify
libraries concerning delays in their publications. Where is everyone?

A late card notice for a future issue enclosed with a copy of the
current issue would be okay, as long as it's seen and acted upon. The
checking-in of the current issue and the notation of the delay could be
done without having to go into the record a second time (at least in our
system).

Personally, I say notifying the subscription agents is *very* important!
It's so helpful to have that information available when we go to place
an online claim. It's also most helpful to have subscription customer
service telephone numbers listed *in* the journals! I'm not sure
if I had ten claims to do from ten different publishers that I would
appreciate having to check ten different publisher web-sites in order to
find their current publication schedules.

What about everyone else?
