Oxford University Press is recruiting for the following position in our USA
office in Cary, North  Carolina:

Senior Marketing Manager, Journals

The incumbent will be responsible for directing the marketing effort in North
America for  a list of US- and UK-based journals.  Additional duties include
assessing the market for new and existing journals, creating cost-effective
marketing and sales strategies, preparing and controlling the annual marketing
budget, managing the marketing department staff, analysing sales, devising
strategies to maximize advertising revenues, and developing contacts within the
relevant subject specialties to maximize journals proposals.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' publishing experience, with at
least three years of  international marketing experience in academic journal
publishing.  Previous supervisory  experience is required, along with general
knowledge of the publishing process:  obtaining  print quotes, fundamental
design elements, editorial processes, market research, and customer
support/distribution services.  Experience with budget preparation and
knowledge of MS Office, QuarkExpress, or Pagemaker is preferred.
