Directs and monitors progress on various cataloging projects, including Retrospective Barcoding of serials (REBARC) and input of holdings information (MHLD). This position supervises and trains two full time employees (Adds Processor and Serials LC Copy Cataloger). QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Required: ALA-accredited MLS, minimum two years serial cataloging experience, cataloging facility in one non-English language, knowledge of standard cataloging tools such as AACR2r, OCLC, USMARC, and LCSH. Must have demonstrated dependability, flexibility, and excellent time management and project management skills in previous jobs. Must have the ability to work successfully within a group environment and to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels. Preferred: Experience with: office or cataloging usage of microcomputers, supervision of personnel, CONSER standards, cataloging Internet resources, and/or an online integrated catalog environment. SALARY: $28,000 minimum. Negotiable, depending upon qualifications. BENEFITS: Faculty status, 12-month tenure track position, SC or TIAA-CREF and other retirement plans available, various medical plans, dental plan. 18 days annual leave, 15 days sick leave, 12 paid holidays, and liberal professional development leave. The university offers up to four credit hours free to employees per semester. LIBRARY: Clemson University Libraries has a staff of 30 librarians and 68 support staff. Clemson has been using OCLC for cataloging since 1977 and NOTIS for our local catalog since 1984. The Catalog Unit consists of five professionals and eight support staff and is strongly service-oriented.
