                       THE CONSER WEB SITE
Reorganized with Additional Information and a New Look

The CONSER Web site has been reorganized to accommodate
twice the number of available files in a hierarchical network of
information about the CONSER Program and serials cataloging. A
whole new look is also featured, more fully utilizing coding
available in the recently approved HTML version 3.2. The CONSER
home page can be found at the following address:

     http://www.loc.gov/acq/conser/

Several new areas of information have been added or
expanded. New information on CONSER membership includes a
description of the levels of membership. Application forms for
joining the CONSER Program are also available. A new section on
committees and task forces includes information about CONSER and
the Program for Cooperative Cataloging committees that govern the
program. Additional information on CONSER's new relationship
with the PCC, including the new PCC governance document, is also
accessible via CONSER's Web pages. A new page on "Online
Resources for Serials Catalogers" facilitates access to library
catalogs, library-related organizations, online serials
collections, and LC Internet resources.

CONSER's Web site includes the home page plus seven subject-
oriented sub-pages in a hierarchical framework. All the
navigational pages feature a new look using coding available in
HTML 3.2, but without frames or Java to allow older browsers to
access all the available information. The CONSER Program strives
to facilitate access to serials information for all CONSER
members and others involved in serials cataloging.
