I am looking for information on alternatives to copying the table of
  contents for routing. We copy and route many tables of contents and
  we'd like to find a different, better way to get this information
  out. Are you subscribing to journals online and making the tables of
  contents available electronically? How? Through an intranet? If you
  are scanning this information, how are you doing this? Is it image
  based or OCR?I tested scanning 3 journals and it still involved
  making one copy to feed through the scanner. The OCR process wasn't
  very successful, especially if the table of contents wasn't straight
  text. Any information on what others are doing with tables of
  contents routing would be appreciated.
