Subject: Serials budget allocation

Good morning,

We are a small liberal arts college and here at the library we are assessing
the way we allocate our monies.  With the steady increase in serials costs we
feel we need to analyze our current spending habits.

If it is not too much trouble, would you mind answering a few questions
regarding serials budget allocation at your institution.

1.  How do you determine how much money to allocate to each department?  Do you
use a formula, past history, or no set method?  If you don't allocate money by
department, what do you do?

2.  If you use a formula, would you mind sharing it with me?

3.  How many current subscriptions do you have?

4.  What is your serials budget?

5.  What is the total library budget?

6.  What is your student enrollment?
