excellent opportunity in its Serials Department.

EDITORIAL DIRECTOR
Qualified candidate will have a Master's Degree in Library or
Information Science, strong technical literacy, and a minimum of 3 years
supervisory experience including at least 2 years in serials-related
work. Requires excellent communication, organizational, and analytical
skills. Also required is knowledge of at least one foreign language; LC
classification and DDC; AACR2 and USMARC formats; and working knowledge
of OCLC.

Primary responsibilities involve management of resources, and direction
of editorial input and maintenance activities, and include overseeing
editorial quality control for all serials products. Work closely with
Data Acquisition Dept., maintaining editorial style and subject
classification documentation and policies for all serials products, and
with Systems and Production Depts. on all database and output-related
issues.  Knowledge of Oracle platform desirable/preferred, in addition
to mainframe database experience.
